aside from my fingers smelling like burned flesh, this morning, life is good...our rock show, last night, went very well...we had a great time, and , apparently, so did our fans...i will never tire of an audience chanting, "Not Done Yet", over and over...the crowd at the Hidden Cove was kind enough to stroke our egos, in this fashion, a few times, during the evening, and loudly, at show's end...but, i'm getting ahead of myself...
we had our own lighting, two 1500 watt spots, one red, the other, blue...even with the red and blue gel filters, it was wicked hot, on stage...i felt like what a waffle must feel like, on the griddle...i got howls and cat calls from the girls, and a few guys, when i ripped my outer shirt off...i have my mother's genes, when on stage...did i ever mention, she was an exotic dancer?...no, really!!...i love attention, and got more than my share of it...between sets, i like working a room, and chewing up the scenery...
only one minor gaffe, while doing "Badge", by Eric Clapton...i had some kind of brain fart, and couldn't recall the opening line...uh oh...kind of a "senior moment"...and then, halfway through the song, i broke a string...sheesh!!..i managed to blaze on the five remaining strings, and got control of the moment...most people didn't notice, and liked the long intro lead i did, while trying to hold the song together...we acted professionally, by not bailing out, and restarting...one of the best songs of the night was our cover of "Don't let me down", by the Beatles...two of our friends, from "the Flat Tops" were especially blown away, by this song, as they do mostly Beatles cover songs, but not this one...
our new friend, Laura, who came to see us, was extremely impressed with the band...i do believe we will be talking to her about joining us, on keys, and vocals....what a cutie...Laurel and her got along famously, which is a good thing...she approves the addition, should it happen...
the crowd included lots of faces out of the past, including some of my pals from the old neighborhood, that i haven't seen, since i was in my early twenties...by the end of the night, our wives were huddling together, discussing a plan to use Laurel's advertising skills, to do our public relations...sweet...
John's son, Johnny recorded much of the show in high def video...that should be scary...one of Randy's pals also video taped the show, from a second angle...i'm hoping to get Laurel's brother in law, Skip, who is the editor of "Sound Stage", to edit the footage, when he has some free time...i can't wait to see the show, from the audience's perspective...
after the show, we had a few drinks, and watched some of the karaoke, and had a wonderful time...i'll post the next club date, as soon as i know...oh yeah, i don't know if i mentioned this, but we have been asked to play at the Hard Rock Hotel, next spring...John's company is having a big shindig there... corporate events pay well...we don't mind, as we really, really like money...i know i'm all over the place here, but, that's how my mind works... it's almost noon, so i'm hitting the couch, with Laurel, for a rare early afternoon cocktail...after that...well...you know...he he...enjoy your day, too...peace, and love...animal

Wow, sounds like it all went wonderful, even with the extra long intro and broken string, hehe.
Had me cracking up good at your waffle line, LOL, but I bet the lights did look wicked on you guys!
I really want to come see you play some day. Maybe I can tag along with MID and Trixie.
