  • "Not Done Yet"- Photoshoot

saturday was the day we scheduled, for the band photo shoot...my baNDYmates and i had a short practice at noon...we rehearsed only the eight songs we're taking into the studio...we really had a profound groove going, and got us pretty fired up...John's neighbor, from across the street made his appearance, on his way to a wedding...we have now drawn our first tuxedo-clad fan...he's really a good guy, a little older than us, and offered to promote us to all his peeps at the wedding...that was pretty cool, and unexpected...it was a great start to the day, although their was a brisk chill to the air...
next, Dean, Randy, and i grabbed our axes, John his sticks...John, drafted his son Johnny, to whom, we are very grateful, for his work, playing official band paparazzi ...he did a nice job, as always...he shows up at every gig, and favors us with his time...thanks again, my friend...we took a ride, stopping first at Portage Park...it's a beautiful setting, with gardens, seating areas, and lots of seasonally enhanced foliage...we received a few curious stares, from onlookers seeing four guys wearing shades, on a gray day, carrying guitars, drumsticks, and packing some serious rock and roll attitude...
some really good shots came out of our next stop, on Montrose, at the lake front...but, i'm getting ahead of myself...after leaving  portage park, we headed to our rides, and started downtown...we planned on taking  a group pic at Buckingham Fountain, but to our surprise, and dismay, it's closed, for renovations.... crrrrrrrap!...now we had a flurry of "where you at?" cell phone  chatter, and had to make a quick choice of a new location...we chose Grant Park, and again, were thwarted by the sight of hundreds of satellite trucks, dishes in the air, readying themselves for the big Obama party, tuesday night...
anyway,  thinking on the fly (zzzzzzzzzzzzz....HELP ME...ok, i'll stop...sheesh!), we chose a stretch of beach front that juts out into the lake, at Montrose Harbor...i used to see the fourth of July fireworks from downtown, laying on my car, in this very place...luckily, due to the poor weather, we had the place pretty much to ourselves...we got some cool shots sitting on the ledge at the base of one of the light houses...i'll post more, another time...we all agree that we had fun, and that,  it would have better,   if we had a vehicle that could have fit all of us, and our gear...we need more social interaction, like this, as a band, and have vowed to see that happen more often...i'm thinking a tour bus, with a leather-clad lady driver?...ummmm, yeah, i'm a pig, but a lovable pig(, i think/ hope)...
these are the first two pics i received today...if you look over Dean's right shoulder, you can see the tents, for tomorrow night's Obama party...

gonna be a crapload of activity there..Laurel and i will watch it on television, thanks...don't like the idea of a 65,000 man mosh pit...now if they were all girrrrrr- oh never mind...i'm trying to cut down...yeah, sure...he he..this is us at the base of the light house, before we went up the ladder...edgy, huh?
