    Where: my wedding reception

    When: 1991

my ex-girlfriend's mom came up to my wife, looked at her, and exclaimed,"my god, you're beautiful!" I never wanted so much to thank her for her heart. her daughter, however, chose to boycott the nuptuals, for her own reasons.

Where: roy's pub- rogers park, il

    When: 1995

this girl named laurelcame up, and introduced herself to me. "so," she said, with this incredible boldness, "i hear you're a teenage mutant ninja turtle!" I said, " you're f**king with me, right? get the f**k away from me." I felt bad about my sullen mood, and apologized, by buying her a drink. i have paid for that drink, in oh so many ways, over, and over. i would do it again, in a heartbeat!

    When: 1993

my daughter, diana was born on march 9. i have never seen a baby do push ups, and seemingly focus on people that early, in life. she did both within minutes of birth. i am so going to enjoy being her father. she scares me daily!

    Where: honolulu

    When: 1980

i met my father, when i was 25 years old. after years of life in foster care, and various state homes, i finally knew my father was the "good guy." i knew my life meant something to someone, and , so it should, for me, as well. my dad told me, that day, "you're never too old to have a happy childhood." i have never wasted a day, since, without trying to do just that.
